Congratulations, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

I’m curious what preparations were necessary (hair removal, stopping hormones etc), if any, and how long they took?

    Thank you for sharing <3

      Thanks :)

Ok so hair removal just shaving very thoroughly the night before or the day of the surgery before the actual surgery and stopping hormones taken orally two weeks before surgery (only progesterone for me)

I also had to get various things, like dilators (I got a prescription on the pre-surgery appointment) and sometime to clean my new body cavity (vaginal shower)

In my case, I also (tried) to make some silicone backups of the old hardware configuration - in case someone ever tells me to go fuck myself… ^^` but that’s not necessary (plan some days to do so, don’t rush it…)

The food is quite ok, better than the usual cliche of hospital food - but there’s no vegan options on the menu at least, maybe something is possible when asking them but I don’t know

First congrats! Im glad to hear you are doing well.

So when you get bottom surgery do you tell them how you want it to look like or do you show them pictures of what you want it to look like or do you just get what you get?

You get what you get - but you get so see pictures of previous results they had before, but things also just depend on how you heal, how much skin is available and co

You can choose if you want full depth or none though

Wow, that was not something that I ever even thought was an option. I guess I just weirdly assumed everyone would want full depth. That is super interesting.

Are you German? If yes I have some questions. In what order did you do the following things:

    1. Getting the Indikation from a therapist
    2. The first appointment with the surgeon
    3. Filing the costs for your health insurance

I’m not sure in what order I would have to do those things.

    And congratulations of course! 🥰

      Yes am German ^^

I was in therapy and all for quite some time already, so I made the appointment for the first consultation in Munich, which was like three months out, and used that time to get all the indication letters to bring them there already.

This was a time saving measure, you don’t need them for that first appointment.

You leave that first appointment with some paperwork you need for filing for the costs with your health insurance, so that happens afterwards - you will also need the indication letters for that.

After the health insurance gives their go, the hospital also needs the indication letters for the second appointment there, which is shortly before the surgery - you get that and the surgery appointment together.

Congratulations! I’ve been considering getting a vaginoplasty, but I am worried about the maintenance, such as dilating. Do you find it to be a lot of work or cumbersome at all?

      Thanks :)

It’s a bit early to tell for myself, since I’m not doing that yet - however my girlfriend had this done beginning of this year as well and I often hear her complain about having to dilate - which seems to be as much ADHD-meh (forgotten all day, remembered just before sleeping, sometimes very dull) and in the beginning sometimes a bit painful.

There’s also the possibility of not having any depth tho, in which case it shouldn’t be needed … maybe that’s an option for you, that you didn’t know yet?
