Someone said to my face that they are a liberal conservative. I just started laughing, said that’s an oxymoron by definition, and quit listening

There are plenty of racists in the queer community, unfortunately. I mean, we’ve all seen the Log Cabin Republicans acting shocked about the leopards eating their faces, but there’s plenty of casual racism, too.

So imagine existing in a culture where hate and fear of out-groups is a large part and now imagine that you’re also part of one of those out-groups but less hated than the main out-groups.

It’s a survival technique:

“Pwease accept us, we’ll still join you in hating the other groups that you do, just please don’t hate me specifically.”
