It doesn’t really make any sense since first and second person pronouns aren’t gendered. When I refer to “you” it means “whoever I’m talking to” without implying anything about the person or persons other than that I intend my message for them. There’s just no reason to change that. Not “no good reason” but “no reason”.

That’s very different. Wikipedia doesn’t allow people to edit their own pages. They don’t have rules against linking to interviews with persons involved in an event, for example.
But if you read a primary source, that’s one persom who had the opportunity to make stuff up. With a secondary source, even if the primary it’s based on is legit, there’s some other guy who wasn’t there and may either be lying to you or misinterpreting the primary source his report is based on. Each new level of isolation adds another opportunity to stack both lies and mistakes onto the data.
It’s not that you can’t go wrong with primary sources. It’s that you can go a lot wronger without them.

I don’t think it’s extreme at all. Elmo openly mocked the Brazilian justice system and its representatives, including posting offensive AI-generated images of Judge Moraes, and has demonstrated several times through his words and actions that he believes himself to be above the law and can do whatever he wants. He is responsible for the actions of his company. “Responsible” means “one who answers for”.
It might be a different situation if this were a company whose CEO was unaware of the legal troubles in a country that isn’t home to their HQ. But he became personally involved with the case and is using technicalities to sidestep his legal obligations without even pretending that’s not what he’s doing. This is a perfect picture of the absolute worst way in which plutocrats can flaunt the law and you’re advocating for it.
