Tbf though if they closely followed the books, Ciri and Geralt wouldn’t ever be in the same room, as the whole series she’s running and he never catches up with her.
I understand why they needed to change the material to fit a tv narrative, but I don’t know why they changed so many things they didn’t need to. Season 1 was great, but 2 went off the rails.

Cheaper to film if they are never in the same room together.
Respecting the source material doesn’t mean making a 1 to 1 copy tho
