Organizer March for Our Lives said the statewide walkouts "speak to the urgency and frustration young people feel after yet another shooting has been met with only 'thoughts and prayers.'"
I walked out of class in middle school to protest the 1991 Gulf War. It was during band, which I really enjoyed. I did it anyway.
I think if I was willing to leave one of the few classes I really liked and get punished for it, which I was- Saturday school, because I was against something that didn’t even affect me personally, I think these kids might just feel like what happened to them or could happen to them is a fucking massive problem and nothing is being done about it.
No see my cynicism there is quite different. I’d be mostly wondering how many of them drove there while texting and distracted while totally doing everything they can to save lives.
I guess your cynicism isn’t equal opportunity then. Either people only protest to get out of things or they don’t. Kids are not some special case when adults want to get out of work as much as they want to get out of school.
Wow are you cynical.

If this ain’t someone tossing rocks in a glass house I don’t know what is.
And yet I’m not the one who suggested these kids are just doing this to get out of school.
My cynicism is directed at people who do bad things.
I think we’re talking to someone who can only gain self-esteem by being rude to others.
At what point was I rude? When I called out the most cynical person on these forums for calling me cynical?
I’m more of an equal opportunity cynical guy.
Okay, well good luck being cynical about kids protesting gun violence right after a school shooting near them or even in their school.
I suppose all those protesting parents of kids killed at places like Sandy Hook and Uvalde are just in it for the money or something?
Okay. I will continue being cynical about kids skipping school.
I thought you said your cynicism was equal opportunity.
Shouldn’t you be accusing those Uvalde parents of just using an excuse to get out of work? Is there a difference?
