In Rational countries, the courts consider the impact of their rulings. In South Africa, the constitutional court (supreme court equivalent) struck down a law, but kept it enforced on a temporary basis to allow for a modified law to be passed.
If the supreme court consisted of human beings, they could have done the same, sending it to the states to be decided by ballot, avoiding the chaotic impact and unnecessary deaths
But it’s never been about states right, it’s about controlling women…
