Summary

Abortion rights measures succeeded in seven states, though Florida’s proposal fell short of its 60% threshold. But with Donald Trump set for a second term and Republicans likely to control Congress, his administration will likely restrict access nationwide.

Trump may also restrict access via federal agencies, targeting abortion drugs, contraception, and enforcing the Comstock Act against mailing abortion-related materials.

His judicial appointments could further limit reproductive rights.

Women should prepare for these restrictions by considering sterilization, long-acting birth control, and purchasing emergency contraception and abortion pills in advance.

Absolutely. But didn’t ya hear? Abortion rights are now also identity politics. So running on protecting them isn’t okay and is running on identity politics, but running on restricting them or banning them isn’t running on identity politics as long as you lie about your true goal.

Anyone who didn’t vote for Harris but would have if one reason or another was different and who will soon lose their right to an abortion nationwide, if we have a next time you better fucking vote so shit like what’s about to happen doesn’t happen again/continue to happen.

      You sure?

Doing nothing to protect: states can ban abortion but with Roe v Wade hovering over them, there’s not much they can do about people going to other states to get abortions done.
Attacking: repealing Roe v Wade, raiding clinics, suing Planned Parenthood et al. into the ground, arresting doctors that perform them and women that have them done.

And for over 50 years Democrats have done nothing to protect those rights other than fundraise off the fear.

It’s so easy to just blame the Democrats for everything, requires no self reflection on your part.

When they are actively backing pro life candidates they are to blame, refusing to bring forth a bill that’s been lingering in committee for years and they are to blame, refusing to primary and replace pro life Dems and they are to blame.

Blaming Republicans for Dem inaction is lazy.

What ever you need to tell yourself to get through what’s to come. You carry your share of the responsibility, even if you don’t want to acknowledge it.

I share none of the responsibility. Liberals thinking that their party is going to do something different this time, despite their history showing that they won’t do anything different shows lack of responsibility.

Imagine if evangelicals sat home in the late 70s and 80s because the GOP wasn’t regressive enough for them yet.

You’ve literally ceded all your political power and are too stupid to see it.

Well, well don’t get to sit in the halls of power so who should we blame if not this party that fundraises with abortion fearmongering?
