So then wouldn’t stripping them of their citizenship render them stateless? Maybe that would be the one thing that stops this since statelessness is generally frowned upon, especially when forced on people. Sounds like it should be illegal under international law if it’s not already.

Like many human-rights related conventions, USA is not a signatory of the convention on the stateless persons.
