  • Zoning reforms sound great.

One of my biggest issues with increasing housing is that many Americans store their wealth in their house. Home ownership is the retirement plan for many, or the generational wealth plan. So how can we build housing without devaluing existing housing?

The answer is to build more multi-family housing, which doesn’t really compete with single family housing for price. The former is mostly for rent, while the later is for owning.

    This is dumb as rocks

The most charitable interpretation is “well crocodiles didn’t change in the last 100 million years but birds did so that means maybe crocs are closer since birds evolved to get farther away”

That’s dumb because both birds and crocodiles have been changing the whole time. Just because crocs look more similar to their fossils, doesn’t mean they haven’t been evolving/drifting/etc.

Same thing any time someone talks about “sharks haven’t changed”. It’s dumb.

This is some dunning Kruger shit.

Yes cycling is the absolute best endurance sport, and it’s fun. Swimming is also great but very few people can swim to work or swim to the bar or swim to the grocery store.

And fuck running. Your knees and ankles will thank you for cycling.

  • By that argument, the lower rate of reproduction is western countries is eugenics, since it’s a consequence of policy (education).

Actually one of the best things that poor folks can do to escape generational poverty, is to have fewer kids. That way, kids inherit a larger share of their grandparents assets, and more can be passed down. Generational land ownership, for example, is extremely powerful. Fewer children per family also lowers the financial burden of education, enabling better education for comparatively fewer people. That’s not eugenics, it’s smart family planning.
