No, the boomers with all their magic environment poisoning synthetic fabrics with antiwrinkle coatings did. The next seven generations will have microplastics in every part of their body, but I haven’t touched an iron in a while.
I lived in an area that was going to start strip mining for sand that was the right consistency for fracking. Plenty of conservatives were amongst the loudest opponents. There’s plenty of hypocracy, no need to exaggerate. Their reasons were not wanting to have so much heavy equipment on the roads and fear of silicosis, not opposing natural gas extraction.
And the
algorithmAI does magic to make our product more awesome than the competitor.
Yeah, the lack of formal definition of what is and is not considered ai definitely muddies the waters when talking about applications and capabilities.
Ai is already being incorporated into chip design tools like synopsys. TechTechPotato has an interesting interview with Aart de Geus that is relevant.
Ai is far off from making high level design improvements, but it can greatly reduce the workload on trace and route and other design steps.
For anyone who thinks this would be a good tradeoff, this would be the worst sleep of your life.
I’ve only had sleep paralysis a couple times and it was always because I was stressed about homework/work and my brain kept trying to work through the problems in my sleep. It is a terrible experience. Sleep is about way more than physical rest. Depriving your brain of good sleep will ruin your memory and make functioning during the day exceedingly difficult.
Plus, let’s look at what employers did in response to women entering the workforce. Has average household income doubled? No, pay has stagnated to the point of households needing two incomes to meet expenses. Don’t expect working through your sleep to mean a life of leisure in the day. You’re more likely to see wages fall to the point where everyone needs a day job plus a sleep job.
The description of hypersexuality in your link doesn’t match losing interest in a partner as soon as there is familiarity. If anything, hypersexuality leads to wanting more sexual activity than their partner. That can contribute to fidelity issues, but that’s not the same as losing interest as soon as they get together.
ADHD doesn’t mean you can only be interested in novel things. People with ADHD tend to be impulsive and have trouble controlling how much attention they can allocate to each subject. They can still hold particular interests for years and decades.
The only argument for the behavior in the OC being attributable to ADHD, is that maybe they are compulsively jumping into relationships before finding out if they have any compatibility with the other person. So it’s not that ADHD made them lose interest immediately, it’s that they acted on impulse and started a relationship prematurely only to find out that they never liked the other person for more than their appearance. But that’s too much extrapolation for what is actually written.
That’s a really distorted view of what ADHD is.
Thank you.
Brian Higgins had an unbelievably good 2023.
