Having lived in both, Canadian healthcare >>> American healthcare. Walking out of a hospital after they saved your life with a bill of $0 is very nice in my experience.
Canadian Healthcare is better if you’re immediately dying, US Healthcare is better if you’re slowly dying…and have money. Those who do not have money need not apply.
The Canadian system is triaged according to priority, as opposed to who can or can’t afford it. I’ve had several MRIs, including one during the height of COVID, and have never waited more than a few weeks. One was scheduled a couple of months out and then moved up after a radiologist reviewed my x-rays. Granted one of them was at 3am but would rather have answers and an inconvenient appointment time
I never understand this, the last time I needed an MRI I got it done within the same day. Canadian healthcare can have its downsides but when you need something you get it quick.
Funny picture, not accurate, but pretty funny. The US is the only developed nation with a life expectancy going down. Hovering around a low established in 1996. Canada on the other hand continues to increase with a tiny rate of growth dip during the worse of Covid. Worse pandemic in its history and all she gets it from it was people were living longer each year at a slower rate.
American Healthcare > Canadian Healthcare - 3 to 7 months for an MRI in Canada

The proceeding was a paid message brought to you by Atena.
Atena, the last time we paid out was 1998 and we fired the person who did that so it won’t happen again.

Hey, that’s how long the wait is at Mayo (unless you’re part of the Saudi or Jordanian royal families).
Why yes, I do have a meme for that too:

Is that before or after accounting for people who opted for MAID?
