LOS ANGELES—Praising the latest of the car’s bleeding-edge features that felt like they came from the future, Cybertruck owner Anselm Hart bragged to friends Monday about its high-tech pedal that makes the vehicle accelerate when pressed. “It’s this bonkers, next-level thing that lets you go fast when push it down on it with your foot,” […]
They’re actually really cheap and flimsy pedals.
When it gets stuck they call it “unsupervised full self driving”
Importantly, they also get stuck under the carpet when pressed which I hear has been causing some issues
I’m guessing they bolt the carpet down as their solution. Might as well add metal brackets and bolt the driver down for safety.
You’re close. The problem is a shitty little metal cover over the shitty little plastic pedal to make it look “cooler”. That has Tesla level build quality and doesn’t stay on and when it slides off it hooks on the carpet. They shoot a screw through the cover into the pedal.
Might as well bolt the car down. They’ll probably get the same enjoyment out of it, just sitting in it in the rain and staring forward.
Funnily enough, the fake aluminium sleeves slid off the accelerator pedals and their solution to that was bolting it.
